Why send your power to the grid for PKR 11 when you can keep it and use it at night?

Net metering to net billing
Since February 2026, storing your solar pays four times more than selling it
NEPRA replaced net metering with net billing. The electricity you export is now bought from you at roughly PKR 11 per unit. The electricity you import is still charged at PKR 37 to PKR 55 per unit.
So every unit you send to the grid earns about a quarter of what the same unit costs you to buy back. Sizing a system against the total on your bill is now sizing it against the wrong number.
We size against your load curve, hour by hour, so the power you generate is used in your own home instead of sold at a loss. That is what the battery is for, and it is why a hybrid system is now the sensible default rather than an upgrade.

Solar in Pakistan, answered plainly
The questions we are asked most often, answered the way we would answer them on a site visit rather than in a brochure.
Is solar still worth installing in Pakistan after net billing?
Yes, but the design has to change. Since February 2026 an exported unit earns about PKR 11.33 while an imported unit costs PKR 37 to PKR 55, so the return now comes from the units you stop buying rather than the units you sell. That means a hybrid system sized against your load curve, with storage to carry the evening, instead of the largest array your roof will take.
What does a solar system cost, and why do quotes vary so much?
Roughly PKR 110,000 to PKR 150,000 per kW installed for a properly specified residential system. Published prices for a 10 kW system in Lahore span PKR 750,000 to PKR 2,500,000, and almost all of that gap sits in the bill of materials: structure gauge, cable size, protection devices, inverter grade, and whether net billing and commissioning are included at all.
What size system does my house need?
Typically 5 to 8 kW for a 5 marla home without central air conditioning, 10 to 15 kW for a 10 marla home with one or two AC zones, and 15 to 25 kW for a kanal or larger. Send us last month's bill for an indicative band, and the site survey produces the real number, because what decides the size is when you use power rather than how much of it.
Will the system keep running during load shedding?
Only if it has a battery. A grid-tied system without storage must disconnect when the grid fails, so it goes dark at midday in full sun. A hybrid system transfers to the battery in under 20 milliseconds, which is fast enough that computers, routers and refrigerators do not restart.
Do I really need a battery?
It depends on when you use power. Around 60 to 70 percent of a Pakistani household's consumption falls after sunset, which is exactly when the array produces nothing. For those homes, storage is what makes the arithmetic work. For a site that genuinely uses its power in daylight, it may not be, and we will say so.
How long does installation take?
Three to four weeks for a typical residential system from contract to commissioning. Net billing approval runs in parallel and depends on your DISCO queue rather than on us, which is why we track it rather than promise a date we cannot hold.
Do you handle the net metering application?
Yes, for both LESCO and MEPCO. We prepare and submit it, attend the inspection so questions are answered on the spot, and hand you the sanctioned agreement as part of the installation.
What happens if something goes wrong in year four?
You call us. We designed the system, our own crews installed it, and on the storage side we assembled the battery pack. There is no importer in between to refer you elsewhere, and the commissioning certificate carries the name and licence number of a PEC licensed engineer on our payroll.
How do I check you are a legitimate company?
AEDB certification CR/22/075/C-1, PEC licence 8101 (C3/E) and SECP registration 0157261. All three are on public registers and all three are checkable before you sign anything. We are also one of only five solar vendors approved by Bahria Town Lahore.
Do you work outside Lahore and Multan?
We take residential work anywhere in Pakistan where a site survey is practical, and commercial or industrial work case by case. Our offices are in Bahria Town Lahore and on Bosan Road in Multan, and both are open to visitors.
