The change that matters

Sizing against your bill is now sizing against the wrong number

Until February 2026 a rooftop system was judged on how much it could export. Net metering credited exported units one for one, so a bigger array simply meant a bigger credit. Net billing ended that. Exported units are now bought from you at roughly PKR 11, while the units you import are still charged at PKR 37 to PKR 55.

The consequence is straightforward. A unit consumed inside your own home is worth three to five times a unit sent to the grid. The right system is therefore the one that matches your consumption through the day, with storage to carry the evening, rather than the largest array your roof can hold.

We size against a load curve. That means looking at when your air conditioning runs, when the pump runs, and what stays on overnight, then designing an array and a battery that cover it.

Two houses on the same monthly bill need different systems, because what decides the design is when the power is used, not how much of it. This is the single reason we measure before we quote.

What you get

A complete system, not a box of parts

  • Load study and design

An engineer measures your consumption pattern and your roof, then produces a design with the array, inverter and storage sized together rather than separately.

  • Tier one equipment

Panels and hybrid inverters from manufacturers with a service presence in Pakistan, so a warranty claim in year four has somewhere to go.

  • PentaVault storage

Our own battery, assembled and installed by us, so the company that made the pack is the company that answers the phone.

  • Net billing filed for you

We prepare and submit the LESCO or MEPCO application, handle the inspection, and hand you the sanctioned agreement.

  • Itemised quotation

Every line explained, from panel count and cable gauge to structure and protection devices. Published prices in this market vary by more than three times, and the bill of materials is the only honest explanation of why.

  • A named engineer signs it off

Your commissioning certificate carries the name and licence number of a PEC licensed engineer on our payroll, not a company stamp.

The daily pattern

Your roof and your household run on different clocks

A rooftop array in Lahore or Multan does most of its work between ten in the morning and four in the afternoon. A Pakistani household does most of its work between sunset and midnight, when the air conditioning, the lights and the television are all running at once.

Without storage that mismatch is settled by the grid, and settled badly: the surplus leaves at PKR 11.33 and comes back at PKR 37 to PKR 55. With storage the same array covers the evening from power you already own.

  • Array sized against your load curve, not your roof area
  • Storage sized against what must keep running after dark
  • A second cabinet can be added later without changing the inverter

A rooftop array makes its power in the middle of the day. A Pakistani household uses most of its power after sunset. Storage moves the orange surplus across to cover the blue evening gap, which is the whole reason a battery pays.

Sizing guide

What size system a Pakistani home usually needs

A rough guide only. The site survey produces the real number, because what decides the size is when you use power rather than how much of it.

  • 5 marla home, no central air conditioning: 5 kW to 8 kW
  • 10 marla home, one or two AC zones: 10 kW to 15 kW
  • 1 kanal home, multiple AC zones and a pump: 15 kW to 20 kW
  • 2 kanal or farmhouse with heavy evening load: 20 kW to 25 kW
  • Storage from 5.12 kWh for essentials, 16 kWh for whole-home backup
  • Add a second battery later without changing the inverter

Questions homeowners ask

Is solar still worth it after net billing?
Yes, but the design has to change. The return now comes from the units you stop buying rather than the units you sell. That means a hybrid system sized against your load curve, with storage to carry the evening, instead of the largest array your roof will take. A 10 kW system on a house using 1,200 units a month typically pays back in two and a half to four years depending on how much of your use is after dark.
What size system does a 10 marla house need?
Usually 10 kW to 15 kW with one or two air conditioning zones, but the honest answer is that marla is the wrong unit. Two 10 marla houses can differ by a factor of two depending on how many AC units run and for how long. Send us your bill for an indicative band; the survey gives the real number.
How long does an installation take from signing to switch-on?
Three to four weeks for a typical residential system. Structure and mounting take two to three days, wiring and commissioning another two. The rest is procurement and scheduling. Net billing approval runs in parallel and depends on your DISCO queue rather than on us.
Do I have to take the battery?
No. We will quote a system without storage if that is what you want, and for a household that genuinely uses most of its power in daylight it can be the right call. We will show you the arithmetic first, because under current rules the battery is usually what makes the numbers work.
Will the system run my air conditioning during load shedding?
It depends on the battery, not the panels. A 5.12 kWh cabinet will carry lights, fans, fridge, router and cameras for an evening but not an AC compressor for long. A 16 kWh cabinet will carry one or two AC zones through a summer night. The survey establishes which circuits you want covered and sizes from there.
What happens on a cloudy day or through the monsoon?
Output falls, typically to somewhere between 20 and 50 percent of a clear day. The grid fills the gap, which is exactly what the connection is for. Annual figures already account for this; if a proposal quotes you a summer peak day as the average, it is overstating the case.
Can I add panels or a second battery later?
A second battery, yes, on the same inverter, up to sixteen residential cabinets in parallel. Panels are more delicate: if your connection was sanctioned before February 2026, applying to enhance capacity moves you onto net billing and you lose the grandfathered terms. Talk to us before you apply, not after.
What happens if something fails in year four?
You call us. We designed the system, we installed it, and on the storage side we assembled the pack. There is no importer in between to refer you elsewhere. The panel and inverter warranties are with manufacturers who have a service presence in Pakistan, which is a deliberate part of what we specify.
Does the roof need to be reinforced?
Usually not for a standard RCC roof, but that is a question the structural part of the survey answers rather than something anyone should assert over the phone. Where a raised structure is needed to clear a water tank or a parapet, it appears as a line item in the quotation rather than as a surprise.

Find out what your home actually needs, before anyone quotes a price

An engineer measures your roof and your evening load, then produces an itemised design with every line explained. Most homes are quoted a system 20 to 30 percent larger than they need.
