System health audit

An independent diagnostic for a solar system that is not producing what it should, whoever installed it.

Who this is for

Your system was installed by someone else and it is not performing

This is a common position in Pakistan. A system was installed during the boom, the installer is difficult to reach or no longer trading, and the bill never fell as far as promised. The owner has no way to tell whether the problem is the design, the equipment, the installation or simply dirt.

The audit answers that question with measurement. We test the array string by string, check the inverter configuration and derating behaviour, inspect protection and earthing, verify the net metering arrangement, and compare actual generation against what the site should produce at this time of year.

You receive a written report with findings and costed options. There is no obligation to have us do the remedial work, and the report is yours to take to anyone.

Six areas, each producing a written finding rather than a verdict on the whole system. Underperformance usually traces to one or two of them, and it is often a settings problem rather than a hardware problem, which is the cheapest kind of fault to find.

What we test

The audit covers

  • String-level output against expected generation
  • Inverter configuration, firmware and thermal derating
  • Panel condition, soiling loss and shading analysis
  • DC and AC protection, earthing and cable condition
  • Mounting structure and weather sealing
  • Battery state of health where storage is fitted
  • Net metering or net billing configuration
  • A written report with findings and costed options

Audit questions

My system was installed by someone else. Will you look at it?
Yes, that is what this service is for. You get a written report on generation, wiring, protection, inverter settings, storage and structure, whether or not you ever buy anything else from us.
My output has dropped. What is usually the cause?
In order of frequency: soiling, a settings or firmware problem on the inverter, a failed or degraded string, and loose terminations. Actual module failure is well down the list. That order matters, because the top two are cheap to fix.
Will you tell me my system is fine if it is fine?
Yes. A report that finds nothing wrong is a legitimate outcome and we would rather issue it than manufacture work. If the honest finding is that your existing installer should fix something under warranty, the report will say that too.
How long does an audit take?
Half a day on site for a residential system, longer for commercial. The written report follows within a few working days.
My battery and inverter are not cooperating. Can you fix that?
Usually. It is the most common storage complaint we see and it is almost never the cells. It is a protocol mismatch, a wrong battery profile in the inverter menu, or a firmware combination nobody tested. Those are settings, and settings are recoverable.
Is it worth auditing a system that is still under warranty?
Particularly then. An independent finding is what turns a vague complaint into a warranty claim your installer has to answer, and warranties expire while conversations drag on.
What do I get at the end?
A written report with measurements, photographs, findings ranked by what they are costing you, and a plain recommendation. No obligation attached to any of it.

Somebody else installed it. We will tell you what it is actually doing

An independent audit of generation, wiring, protection, inverter settings and any storage, with a written report. If the honest finding is that nothing needs changing, that is what the report will say.
